Welcome to Chickamauga City Schools

Superintendent's Message

Superintendent Melody DayWelcome Letter

Welcome to the Chickamauga City School System---a system rich in tradition, yet innovative and aggressive in preparing students to meet the challenges of the future.

The Chickamauga City School System is dedicated to continuous improvement in all aspects, and two over-arching goals guide the work: Higher student achievement; and more efficient and effective operations.  A balanced scorecard, which provides an overview of current and historical performance, has been developed for each school and the system.  This information is accessible through our website.

The system mission is to “Provide a challenging and engaging educational program to meet the needs of all learners.”  This is achieved by holding the highest expectations for all students and staff; and by providing the highest quality teachers who are professional, focused and who go above and beyond to support their students.   The system provides a rigorous curriculum along with programs that will meet the educational needs of all students.  The system’s total commitment is to ensure the success of all students.

Please feel free to contact me for more information.  Working together we can make a difference, and I look forward to meeting more of you at different school events.

Sincerely,
Melody Day

ATTENTION STUDENTS AND PARENTS---IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT School Seal

We have recently had numerous discipline incidences involving students bringing vapes/oils/and other related paraphernalia to school.  While many adults have had success in using vapes to help them quit smoking, these items are illegal for children to have and will not be allowed on campus.  The problem is primarily at the middle school level, but this message is for all students, regardless of age.
