Kimbrell, Hamill named to All-Star teams
Two members of the Lady Trojan softball team received honors from the North Georgia Athletic Conference for their play during the 2008 season and tournament. Pitcher Kalei Kimbrell was named to the All-League team and shortstop Jordyn Hamill was named to the All-Tournament squad.
2008 season updates
Sep 29 Gordon Lee's season ended with an eight-inning 3-2 loss to Ringgold in the first round of the NGAC tournament. Kalei Kimbrell struck out seven and walked none for the Lady Trojans, who out-hit the Lady Tigers 5-4.
Sep 27 The Lady Trojans lost to Chattanooga Valley 1-0. GLMS picked up eight hits but could not push a run across. Kalei Kimbrell pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the loss.
Sep 26 Gordon Lee beat Dade County 9-5. Sara Holcomb was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Anna Pettigrew and Tori McElhaney also had two hits for the Lady Trojans. Megan Wolinsky picked up the win.
Sep 19 Heritage scored twice in the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie, then added three more runs in the seventh to take a 9-4 win over Gordon Lee. Jordyn Hamill had two hits and two RBIs for the Lady Trojans. Ashley McDonald added two hits to the GLMS attack while Lora Butler and Tori McElhaney each had an RBI.
Sep 16 The Lady Trojans rallied to beat LaFayette 2-1. Kalei Kimbrell struck out 10 in the win.
Sep 11 Gordon Lee beat Dade County 8-0. Ashley McDonald had two hits and three RBIs, including a two-run single in the Lady Trojans' big six-run sixth inning. Megan Wolinsky was the winning pitcher, allowing only three hits and no walks in six innings.
Sep 6 The Lady Trojans fell to Ringgold 8-0. The Lady Tigers scored all their runs in the first inning. Kalei Kimbrell struck out 10 in four innings of work for GLMS.
Sep 5 Gordon Lee got its bats going late and defeated Rossville 8-0. Tristen Young and Kalei Kimbrell combined on a one-hitter. Jordyn Hamill had two hits, two RBIs, and scored two runs. Kaleigh Witt added an RBI triple to the Lady Trojans' attack.
Aug 29 The Lady Trojans left the bases loaded in the seventh inning of a 1-0 loss to Lakeview. Kalei Kimbrell allowed no hits and struck out nine but took the loss. The Lady Warriors scored their only run on a errant throw. Jordyn Hamill had two hits for GLMS.
Aug 19 Gordon Lee scored twice in the top of the first and went on to a season-opening 4-1 victory over LaFayette. Kalei Kimbrell allowed only one hit and no earned runs while striking out 11 to pick up the win.
