District Strategic Plan 2023-2024
Goal 1: Increase the percentage of students achieving at Levels 3 and 4 by 3% in ELA and math as measured by the Georgia Milestones EOG and EOC assessments.
Action Steps:
- Teachers and leaders will participate in PLC’s to study curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Administer formative assessments and analyze data to identify student learning needs, differentiate instruction, monitor student progress, and increase student achievement.
- Utilize training and resources to integrate instructional technology and other digital resources into teaching and learning.
- Improve communication and collaboration between parents, schools and communities in order to educate the whole child and ensure all students achieve academic success.
- Participate in teacher and/or leader professional development that is focused on utilizing tools and resources to identify and address individual student learning needs with a focus on specific subgroups.
- Build capacity of school leaders and administrators to support teachers in building positive relationships, increasing rigor, and using data and technology to improve instruction and personalize learning.
- Purchase and utilize the MAP Growth Assessment.
- Purchase Exact Path and provide professional development on how to effectively utilize it.
- Utilize extended learning time and/or remediation/enrichment time to provide additional learning opportunities.
Goal 2: Through professional learning communities and other professional learning opportunities, we will provide strategies and resources to meet the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students as measured by yearly spring survey data which shows an increase in all stakeholder perception data as well as an increase in Milestones Assessment scores.
Action Steps:
- Train school leaders on how to effectively organize and monitor a professional learning community.
- Conduct staff needs assessment to identify and prioritize professional learning focus.
- Participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) that focus on understanding formative assessments and how to effectively analyze formal and informal data to identify student needs and inform instruction.
- Participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and other professional development that focuses on Depth of Knowledge (DOK), rigor, identifying learning gaps, and critical thinking skills.
- Participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) and other professional development on meeting and the behavioral and emotional needs of students as well as focus on building positive relationships with students, parents, and peers.
- Participation in teacher and/or leader professional development that is focused on developing and implementing a more effective plan for vertical and horizontal collaboration.
- Provide school leaders (teacher leaders/Assistant Principals/Principals) with opportunities to advance in their careers through tailored professional learning and certification.
- Staff will participate in training to integrate technology and other digital resources into directed learning experiences.
- Teachers and school leaders will complete the MAP and Exact Path Training.
Goal 3: Improve communication and strengthen school, family and community partnerships.
Action Steps:
- Utilize Infinite Campus to provide parents and students with current, up to date information on grades and attendance.
- Gather and analyze input/feedback from parents, students, teachers, community members and business partners through a variety of methods such as surveys, meetings and committees.
- Utilize multiple social media sites to provide all stakeholders with current information and resources.
- Maintain an active school council at each school where stakeholders actively participate and help support the school and programs.
- Maintain a district and school level balanced scorecard to communicate school and student performance.
Goal 4: Promote a positive and safe school climate conducive to learning in order to educate the whole child and ensure all students achieve academic success.
Action Steps:
- Participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLC) that focus on developing the behavioral and emotional needs of students.
- Develop and enhance programs to recognize and celebrate student success.
- Develop and enhance programs to recognize and celebrate teacher success.
- Expand leadership opportunities for students.
- Increase the opportunities for parent and family involvement to support student learning.
- Utilize the online ticket system for technology and maintenance requests.
- Provide training for Environmental Technicians, maintenance staff and nutrition staff.
- Review and update the current system and school emergency safety plans.
