Notice of Sale of Surplus Maintenance Van
The Chickamauga City Board of Education will accept sealed bids on the following surplus maintenance van: 2013 Ford E150. The van is located at the Central Office at 402 Cove Road, Chickamauga, GA 30707. The van may be inspected by appointment only by calling (706) 382-3100, ext. 4000. The van is sold “As Is” with No Warranty. Terms for bidding are as follows: Bids will be accepted in Sealed Envelope at the Central Office until 1:00 p.m. on March 21, 2024. Envelope for bidding may be delivered or mailed to the address above. Any bids received after the specified day and time, regardless of the circumstances, will remain unopened. The Bid Envelope is to be marked “Sealed Bid for Van.” The bid envelope must contain at least one sheet with the bidder’s name, address, phone number, and the bid amount in U.S. Dollars. The Chickamauga City School System reserves the right to accept or reject all or part of the bid, to waive formalities, and to do what is in the best interest of the Chickamauga City Board of Education.

Known issues:
- Right side engine head is cracked and leaks oil down the rear of the engine when running.
- A couple of manifold bolts are missing/broken.
- HVAC vacuum canister is cracked and loses vacuum.
- HVAC blower only operates on low or high.

1.1 SOLICITATION
- Sealed proposals from [General Contractors] will be received by Chickamauga City Schools at 402 Cove Rd. Chickamauga, GA 30707 until 1:00 P.M. on March 29, 2024 for construction of:
Restroom Renovations to: Gordon Lee High School
105 Lee Circle, Chickamauga, GA 30707 - A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held at March 14, 2024 @ 10:00 AM at 105 Lee Circle Chickamauga, GA 30707. Any person or entity that fails to attend the mandatory pre-proposal meeting will not be permit-ted to submit a Proposal for the Project and any Proposal submitted by a person or entity that did not attend the mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be returned unopened.
- [Competitive Sealed] Proposals will be opened by the Review Committee and scored as outlined in the Instructions to Proposers. Proposals will not be opened publicly. The Owner will notify the proposers, in writing, of the results.
1.2 BID DOCUMENTS
- Proposal forms [and construction documents] may be examined at Southern A & E’s office at 7951 Troon Cir-cle, Austell, Georgia 30168 or by calling 770-819-7777 to request a password and a link to Southern A & E’s online plan service to view the documents. Upon further request documents may be downloaded for printing [or hardcopies may be ordered through the online plan service]. [Only complete sets will be provided for downloading or as hardcopies].
- No deposits are required and no refunds will be made.
- Construction documents will not be sent to plan rooms.
1.3 CONDITIONS
- No proposal may be withdrawn for a period of [thirty (30)] days after proposals are submitted.
- Proposals shall include: a) the completed [Competitive Sealed] Proposal Form [b) the signed Bid Form c) the Bid Bond] d) The “Contractor Affidavit and Agreement” demonstrating compliance with O.C.G.A. 13-10-91, Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act and e) affidavits demonstrating compliance with O.C.G.A. 50-36-1, Verification of Lawful Presence Within United states through the use of the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program which are available on the Georgia Audits and Accounts website (http://www.audits.ga.gov/NALGAD/section_3_affidavits.html)
- Retain the following paragraph for Competitive Sealed Proposals only.
- Bid bond in the amount of [five] percent of the base bid is required and must be submitted with the bid. A bid bond is the only acceptable form of bid security. No personal checks, cashier’s checks, certified checks or cash will be accepted in lieu of the bid bond.
- Performance and payment bonds in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum will be re-quired prior to commencement of construction.
- All bonds shall be written by a surety licensed to conduct business in [Georgia], listed on the Federal Register and acceptable to the Owner.
- Owner reserves the right to waive technicalities and irregularities and to reject any or all proposals.
